Could this shower curtain be used as a regular curtain?

Today's LGN post got me thinking about ikat.  I bought a very bold ikat shower curtain (impulsively from ebay) for my upstairs bathroom...and couldn't handle it...W-A-Y  T-O-O  L-O-U-D!
But what if I used it as curtains for my son's room?
Please tell me if I am making a mistake (ikat, brown polka dots and winnie the pooh?)

ps. the shower curtain will have to be split in half, so there will be less bulk on each side of the window (which is really too bad, but I doubt I will find an identical curtain)
pss...here is the before...we used the valance that came with the sheet set
psss...I LOVE the pattern...I just couldn't handle staring at it while brushing my teeth...
pssss...I don't mind that it hits the rad, and doesn't go to the floor...do you?

  1. I'm going to be honest because you asked for a truthful answer...I prefer the before, the ikat seems like it's competing with the rest of the room, hope that helps!

  3. Are you SURE you couldn't adjust to it as a shower curtain? I love it....but not in the nursery. If you can't stand it in the bathroom, I agree with the idea of using it for cushions, it's beautiful!

  4. I like it and prefer it over the valance.
Busy shower curtains do not work in my opinion. I tried it before and didn't like it.

  5. I like the fabric, and think it will look great split up :) whether it will look great in this room... are you thinking of changing up the decor as he gets older?? maybe with different bedding? it could work (but ONLY if you were already thinking in that direction and not changing things for the sake of this curtain) I don't mind the brown polka dot.
or you can always put it back on ebay?? or reupholster a chair? i liked the pillow suggestion too.

  7. Please oh please pretty please, share with me where you got your Manhattan/NYC print that is framed to the left of the window!

I thought I had a link for it bookmarked and I was thinking today of finally ordering it and I cannot find the bookmark and now, coincidentally, there it is in your nursery!!!!
