Basement Underpin: Week Four Wrap Up

bThe underpinning is complete!  Four weeks to do ~900sq/ft. Good jobbie guys!

On Thurs/Fri they worked on the drains and dug a trench for the weeping tile.  As far as I can tell the last pile of dirt that they discarded was the final pile of dirt.  They also suspended the hot water tank and the boiler from the joists.  They made the executive decision to move the sump pump to the utility room - instead of the laundry room (good idea).

Whew - I am glad that part is over. It was DIRTY. DUSTY. LOUD. I can't wait until I can clean and it will stay clean! I want to clean everywhere...everything upstairs is grimy.

Next week they will finish the drains/weeping tile and then put a layer of gravel on the mud. After that the radiant floor guys take over to insulate, lay down a large wire grid on the floor and attach the heating tubes to the grid. They will pour the new floor next Thursday or Friday.
